Bot Protection

CDN and firewall bot blocking

What is Bot Protection?

Many websites use services like Cloudflare, Akamai, or other CDNs that include bot protection. These services detect automated requests (like ours) and may block them, show a challenge, or require human verification.

When we detect bot protection, it means some of our analysis may be limited because we couldn't access the full website. However, we can still check DNS, TLS certificates, and other publicly available data.

Why Does Bot Protection Matter?

Bot protection is actually a good sign in many ways:

  • Professional infrastructure: The site uses enterprise-grade security services
  • Active protection: The site is being actively protected from automated attacks
  • DDoS mitigation: Services like Cloudflare help protect against denial-of-service attacks

We report this as a neutral signal. It's informational, not a red flag. It just means our analysis of HTTP behavior and favicon detection may be incomplete.
